Transportation is about far more than how we move. It shapes access to jobs, education, health care, and economic opportunity. It determines whether mobility is safe and affordable—and has profound consequences for our climate and air quality. Building a more sustainable transportation system is fundamental to addressing some of the most urgent challenges of our time.
For more than 35 years, ITS-Davis has brought together experts across disciplines to turn rigorous research into meaningful action. Under the leadership of Founding Director Emeritus Dan Sperling, the institute grew into the world’s leading university center on sustainable transportation and a trusted partner to communities, industry, and governments in California and around the world.
I am honored to build on that remarkable foundation. Amid rapid changes in society, technology, and our environment, our mission has never been more important. ITS-Davis will continue to evolve—bringing science to policy and advancing sustainable mobility for all.
