Third International Conference on Climate, Mobility, and Energy

Powering Prosperity Through Innovation and Clean Mobility

The University of California, Davis Institute of Transportation Studies and Ghent University will co-host a two-day international conference in Ghent, Belgium on September 15-16, 2026, continuing the tradition of bringing together senior policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers from Europe, the United States, and beyond. At a time of increasing geopolitical uncertainty and fragmentation, strengthening international collaboration in sustainable transport and bringing science to policy is more important than ever. The program will spotlight policy-relevant, practical, solution-oriented pathways to advance sustainable transportation while boosting economic and industrial competitiveness. Sessions will explore opportunities and challenges in vehicle electrification, the future of urban mobility and automation, and the evolving role of sustainable biofuels and e-fuels. The conference  will also feature a student poster session that brings cutting-edge research into direct conversation with decision-makers. Selected contributions from the conference will be invited to special issues in leading transportation policy journals. More details on the Special Issues timeline will be announced soon.

Registration will open soon.
