Event Date
From November 4-5, the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS-Davis) will host a training workshop for the Research & Development Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Technologies (R&D GREET) model. GREET is a lifecycle analysis model used by many regulation and incentive programs, including the US Renewable Fuel Standard, Section 45(Z) tax credits, and several states’ Low Carbon Fuel Standard programs to evaluate the environmental and energy impacts of transportation. First deployed in 1995 and continuously updated by the Argonne National Laboratory, GREET offers a comprehensive approach to understanding the flows of energy, materials, and emissions in the transportation system.
This 2-day workshop will present a curriculum created by the GREET development team at Argonne, structured to provide an overview of the capabilities and design of the model, and guide participants through several demonstration exercises. Participants will learn how to use GREET to evaluate the energy and emissions impacts of vehicle manufacturing, fuel production, and renewable energy systems. They will develop an understanding of GREET’s basic design and interface, the data resources embedded in the model, and how to effectively use GREET to answer a wide range of different questions. The workshop will also highlight the library of supporting material around GREET.
Registration for the workshop is $150 per person. Scholarship opportunities are available upon request. Questions should be directed to ITS-Davis Conference and Events Manager Cristina Cameron (cfetcheverry@ucdavis.edu).
