RIVERSIDE: Forum examines how freight, warehouses affect Inland communities

Experts spent Tuesday grappling with how Inland Southern California can reap the financial benefits of logistics yet maintain quality of life. The event was a daylong forum on “Freight and Sustainable Communities Policy,” on the campus of electronics manufacturer Bourns Inc., which is also home to UC Riverside’s Center for Environmental Research and Technology, which with CSSD was among several partners hosting the event. They included the National Center for Sustainable Transportation; Southern California Association of Governments; CalTrans, and the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies.
