Daniel Sperling, Director of ITS-Davis gave his thoughts on key concerns. “Cars are parked and unused 95% of the time. Cars cost over $8000 per year to own and operate (counting depreciation, insurance, etc.). If you have 2 or more vehicles, try downsizing your household fleet, and using car sharing and ride services such as Lyft and Uber and occasional car rental when you need them.”
