Democrats: Low-carbon still has green light despite Hayes questions

Oregon Democrats have placed a controversial and newly amended low-carbon fuel standard bill early on the 2015 legislative schedule despite Republican threats to block other important bills down the line if it passes. Researchers from the University of California-Davis told lawmakers the impact was around a third of a cent per gallon in 2014. “The exact purpose of (the) policy is to move away from the status quo and reduce emissions through more use of low-carbon fuels via market competition and technology innovation,” said Sonia Yeh, a senior researcher with the UC-Davis Institute of Transportation Studies who was involved in implementing the California program.
