This is the 14th Biennial Conference on Transportation and Energy hosted by the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies and organized under the auspices of the Energy and Alternative Fuels Committees of the U.S. Transportation Research Board. (Attendance is by invitation only.)
International policies and initiatives for climate and energy are faltering. Continuing increases globally in greenhouse gas emissions mean that the climate is unlikely to stabilize even after an increase of 2°C. Meanwhile major shifts are underway in energy supply. This conference will focus on national and sub-national approaches to reduce oil use and greenhouse gas emissions associated with transportation. What are the opportunities and what are the limitations? What new international and public-private partnerships might be pursued?
